Which

- Which অর্থ হল কোনটি।
- Which ইতর প্রাণী, শিশু বা বস্তু বাচক noun বা pronoun এর পরিবর্তে বসে। 
- Which সাধারণত subject বা object এর পরিবর্তে বসে। 
- Noun এর পূর্বে adjective, adverb বা possessive থাকলে তার পরিবর্তে which । অর্থাৎ কোন thing/animal সম্পর্কে ব্যবহৃত modifier এর উপর প্রশ্ন করার জন্য which ব্যবহার করা হয়। 
- subject হিসাবে which কখনো একা বসে না। এর পর একটি noun word বসে। 
- Which যখন subject হিসাবে বসে তখন প্রদত্ত sentence এ verb এর অবস্থার কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না।

Rule-1: Which যখন subject হিসাবে বসবে, তখন
    i. Which + subject টির headword (noun) টি বসবে। headword (noun) এর পূর্বের word/words বাদ     যাবে।
    ii. প্রদত্ত Sentence এর verb টি অপরিবর্তিত অবস্থাতে বসবে। 
    iii. বাকি অংশ নিয়মানুযায়ী বসবে।
    iv. Note of Interrogation বসবে। 

Example:
1. The red cow gives us milk.
    WH-question: Which cow gives you milk? 
2. The Bangladeshi garment has earned world-wide popularity.
    WH-question: Which garment has earned world-wide popularity? 

Rule-2: Which দ্বারা যখন object নিয়ে প্রশ্ন করা হয় তখন- 
    I. Which + object অংশের noun word টি বসে। 
    II. নিয়মানুযায়ী auxiliary বসে। 
    III. প্রদত্ত Sentence এর subject টি নিয়মানুযায়ী বসে। 
    IV. বাকি অংশ নিয়মানুযায়ী বসে। 

Example: 
1. He will go by the Padma Express.
    WH-question: Which express will he go by?
2. He likes the white shirt. 
    WH-question: Which shirt does he like?

Rule-3: Subject হিসাবে Which কে আগে বসিয়েও প্রশ্ন করা যায়। 

যেমন,
1. Hamlet is very interesting.
    WH-question: Which is very interesting? 
2. Honesty is the best policy.
    WH-question: Which is the best policy. 

Rule-4: আলাদা বা তুলনামুলক আনন্দ, পছন্দ নির্ণয়ের ক্ষেত্রে Which + of + noun word/phrase + verb দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করা হয়। 
যেমন, 
1. Of all the poets, I like Jashim Uddin most.
    WH-question: Which of the poets do you like most?
2. The younger of the two sisters got married. 
    WH-question: Which of the two sisters got married?

Exercise: 
   1. The concord aeroplane runs fast.
    2. The man gives his maiden speech. 
    3. They helped the poor man.
    4. You have applied for the post of a clerk. 
    5. Both these roads lead to the college.
