০১) মুক্তিযুদ্ধ আমাদের জাতীয় জীবনের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ঘটনা। বাংলার সাহসী সন্তানেরা নিজেদের জীবন উঃসর্গ করে দেশ স্বাধীন করেছেন। তাই মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা আমাদের গর্ব। তাদের স্মৃতি ইতিহাসে অমর হয়ে থাকবে।

Translation: Liberation war is an important incident in our national life. The brave sons of Bangladesh have freed the country sacrificing their lives. So, the freedom fighters are our pride. Their memories will be immortal in history.

 

০২) প্রতিদিন সকালে আমরা দুটি বিস্ময়কর ঘটনা দেখি। একটি সূর্যোদয় আর একটি সেদিনের সংবাদপত্র। অভ্যাসবশত আমরা আর বিস্ময়বোধ করিনা। কিন্তু কোনটাই সামান্য ঘটনা নয়। সূর্যের আলোতে যেমন চারদিক আলোকিত হয় তেমনি সংবাদপত্র আমাদেরকে ২৪ ঘন্টার পৃথিবীর সংবাদ জানিয়ে দেয়।

Translation: Every morning we see two wonderful incidents. One of them is the sun rising and the other is the newspaper of the day. Habitually we do not feel surprised. But none of them is a minor incident. As our surroundings are enlightened by the sun light, the newspapers also make us know the information of twenty four hours of the world.

 

০৩) আমার নাম সুরমা। আমি একটি নদী। আমার বাস ছিল আসাম। এখন বাংলাদেশের এক প্রান্তে আছি। এক কোণে পড়িয়া থাকিলেও সারা দেশেরই আমি উপকার করিয়া থাকি।

Translation: My name is Surma. I am a river. I lived in Asam. Now I am in one corner of Bangladesh. Though I am in one corner, I come to the help of the whole country.

 

০৪) আমাদের মাতৃভূমির নাম বাংলাদেশ। আমাদের দেশের লোক শান্তিকামী। আমরা শান্তিপূর্ণ সহাবস্থানে বিশ্বাসী। আমরা সবার সাথে বাঁচতে চাই এবং সকলের মঙ্গল কামনা করি। সকলের প্রতি ভালবাসা এবং কারও প্রতি ঘৃণা নয় এটাই আমাদের জীবন দর্শন। বিশ্বের মানুষকে আমরা আত্মীয় মনে করি।

Translation: The name of our motherland is Bangladesh. The people of our country are peace loving. We believe in peaceful co-existence. We want to live with all and expect the welfare of all others. The philosophy of our live is “Love for all and hatred for none.” We consider the world people our kith and kin.

 

০৫) শ্রমজীবি মানুষেরাই বাংলাদেশের প্রধান সম্পদ। এ দেশের কৃষকেরা আমাদের জন্য খাদ্য উৎপাদন করছে। শ্রমিকেরা বিভিন্ন দেশে কাজ করে বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জন করছে। শিক্ষিত লোকেরা দেশের জন্য তেমন কিছইু করছে না। এদেশকে বাঁচিয়ে রেখেছে শ্রমজীবি মানুষেরাই।

Translation: The working class people are the main asset of Bangladesh. Farmers of this country are producing food for us. Working in many countries, the labourers are earning foreign exchange. But the educated people are not doing such things. It is the working class people who have kept this country alive.
